Talk Australia provides free tools to help you manage your usage and avoid unexpected charges.
1. Usage Information
- You can check your usage at any time by logging into your account portal.
- Information is updated regularly, but there may be short delays in reporting.
- We will let you know if certain usage (for example, international roaming) takes longer to appear.
2. Spend Alerts
We send free alerts when you reach:
- 50% of your included allowance
- 85% of your included allowance
- 100% of your included allowance
Alerts are sent by SMS or email (depending on your account settings).
3. Hard Caps and Controls
You may request:
- A hard cap to stop services once your chosen spend limit is reached.
- Data usage controls (slowing or blocking data once your allowance is used).
- International call and roaming restrictions to prevent high charges.
4. Plan Information
Each of our Critical Information Summaries (CIS) sets out:
- What is included in your plan?
- Minimum and maximum charges.
- Costs for calls, SMS, and data outside your allowance.

5. Assistance for Financial Hardship
If you are worried about bills, you may also access support through our Financial Hardship Policy. This may include flexible payment arrangements or moving to a lower-cost plan.
